House Orchid

Visited our friend this afternoon. They have this orchid on their dining table and I took a picture of it.

The Long Drive to Hamilton Gardens

Just two days after visiting the Wintergarden on December of last year, we, along with friends, drove all the way to Hamilton to visit the famed Hamilton Gardens. The gardens were so nice. It was worth the trip. Sadly, the Tudor Garden was still under construction. At least there’s something to look forward to in our next visit.

I was unable to post these pictures again due to my hectic schedule. So I’m posting them now almost a year after I took them.

A Visit to the Wintergarden at Summertime Set 1

It was around the end of December 2014 when we visited Auckland’s Wintergarden. Sadly, I got so busy at work by January that I failed to post any of my pictures during that time.

With summer arriving soon, I remembered that memorable visit and so I dug up my pictorial archives to post these pictures of the various fascinating flowers that I’ve found in the Wintergarden.

Island Cove Adventure: Trellises & Creepy Things

Our first stop were the trellises.  I like trellises.  They have an air of mystery around them.  One could just imagine the creepy vines as they weave their way in and around those posts with some even breaking through the concrete.  The interweaving shadows that were created as the sunlight hits the parallel wooden bars and the old, rusty wrought-iron lamps added so much to the ambience.  The occasional flowers that have sporadically sprung forth gave an overall feeling of loneliness and solitude to the place.  And that’s what makes it a perfect subject for us shutterbugs.
