Last Dec. 2019, we went back to the Philippines for a month of vacation. It was a sad holiday since my Mom passed away. Even though we tried to enjoy the trip, there was always this lingering sadness.
With our friends, we went on a trip to Hundred Islands, Bolinao. It was our first time to go there and we were excited. I even got to fly a drone. Will share the video in another post.

It’s been two years since I’ve last posted here. Sadly, I have neglected my photoblog. I’ll try to post regularly from now on.
Last June, my wife and I went to the Philippines for a month of holiday. It was super fun. We went with our friends to Ilocos Norte. I still have lots of pictures to share from the places that we’ve been to but here’s the first picture that I’ll share.

When we arrived at the campsite, we had dinner, then when most are asleep I tried doing astrophotography. Here’s one of my attempts.
Last Friday, my wife and I along with our two friends went on a long hike to Motutapu Island via Rangitoto Island. After more than five hours, we finally reached the camp site. It was very tiring, at least for me, but the views made it all worth it.

Before we proceeded to Whangarei Falls, we stopped by the historic Puhoi Village. Although very near to Auckland, being in Puhoi makes you feel that you are in a different time period. It’s a quiet, serene town along a lake. They have a small although a very full and very nice library. We even chatted with their friendly librarian. Time moves so slow here. We love it! After having mussels and chips for lunch, we headed on our way.
It’s our second time here and definitely won’t be our last.
Yesterday, our friends and I went on a road trip north. Sadly, the weather was not cooperating. When we arrived at the falls, it was raining again and my camera got drenched. Happily, after 5pm, the skies cleared up again. Here’s a photo of the falls from one of the lookout points.
After a hearty meal at our local Denny’s, my wife and I strolled along Sky Tower then I took this picture.
The drive was long but it was so worth it. We’ve finally reached the northernmost point of New Zealand — Cape Reinga. It was a long walk to the Lighthouse as well. But once we reached it, it was a breathtaking vista.
We could see the currents of the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans as they try to overpower one another. We could see mountains and hills and strong waves as they hurriedly race to the beaches. It took a long time to get here but it would take a long time to forget it as well.
